Sonobe Installation
Objective: To create a 3-D art piece that enhances the visual appeal of an indoor space.
Limitations: Must be made of only Paper.
Process
Sonobe is the name of an individual piece of paper folded a certain way (here is a link for how to fold one). For this project, I folded over 1,000 sonobes and then pieced them together. Folding alone took an estimated 17 hours of labor!
Final
I am very proud of this project because it is the reason I was admitted into the School of Industrial Design at Ohio State. It has grown to symbolize my passion and perseverance within design. To this day, it is framed and on display at my parent's house.
